Please see the current update from PWSA regarding Northern Force:
Evening:
We are writing to you because Northern Force has indicated that you or a family member are listed as a participant in Northern Force's programming.
The PWSA is committed to community-based softball. The PWSA’s Board of Directors is responsible to its member clubs and associations. The PWSA Board has the authority to take all action it may deem necessary in the best interests of the organization and what it believes are the best interests of softball for all participants in Ontario.
The PWSA has a Policy on Participation in Non-Sanctioned Softball (the “Policy”). The Policy, duly approved and implemented by the organization, is available on the PWSA website under the “Policies” tab found in the “General Info” section.

Pursuant to the Policy, Northern Force has been designated as “not in good standing” for purposes of the Policy given its decision to expand into a year-round program.
The PWSA had no issue with Northern Force so long as it was not directly competing with community-based softball in-season. However, after discussions with the PWSA about becoming a part of the PWSA when contemplating expanding into in-season activities, Northern Force decided instead to go a different direction and not join the PWSA, choosing instead to operate outside of the PWSA in direct competition with the PWSA’s member associations. Accordingly, the PWSA is confirming that, going forward, those participating in Northern Force programming will be subject the terms set out in the Policy, including a loss of eligibility for PWSA-sanctioned activities for a period of one year.
Softball Ontario supports the PWSA and its commitment to community-based softball.
Neither the PWSA or Softball Ontario are saying that people shouldn’t participate with Northern Force . Everybody should do what they believe is in their best interests. However, there are consequences should one choose to participate in activities provided by an entity that has chosen to operate outside of the PWSA.
